Activity Log

In This Article

Here you are able to send real time updates to parents about their child's day. Simply navigate to the Activity Log section and begin creating activities for all of the children in your care. 

View Activities

Once on the Activity Log page you are able to see it all activities that have previously been created for all of the children in your care. 

From here, you can use filters to view all previously created entries by Activity or by Children: 


    Add Activity 

    You can create a new activity by clicking one of the buttons at the top of the Activity Log screen.

    1. Click one of the round Activities at the top of your screen.

    2. If you accidentally select the wrong activity you can change it by clicking the Activity dropdown from the pop-up

    3. Select the Associated Child you would like to create this activity for 
    4. Enter the Time the activity occurred, by default the current time will be auto populated
    5. Fill out all remaining required fields. This will vary depending on which activity you have created 

    Activity Definitions 

    When creating a new activity log entry, you will have the option to select from five different activity types. Each type will require you to select the Associated Child and Time of the activity but otherwise comes with its own set of required fields, which may vary to capture the specific details of the activity.

    • Nap: You can record all stages of the child's nap with this activity
      • After selecting the child you wish to create this activity for, under Time of Activity you should enter the time and select what stage of the Nap you are logging:
        • Start Nap: When the nap began
        • End Nap: When the nap ended 
        • Check: You can use this if you are required to do a sleep check

    Choosing one of the above stages will generate a distinct activity entry for each. As a result, both you and the parent will see separate entries for the Start Nap and End Nap activities.

      • Observation: Here you can mark any of the below behaviors you observe
        • Labored Breathing 
        • Restless
        • Flushed
        • High Body Temperature 
      • Position: Here you can select the position in which the child is sleeping
        • Side
        • Back
        • Stomach 
      • Notes: This is where you can make any other notes related to your observations updated you would like to provide about the nap 
      • Uploads:  Here you are able to upload any photos or videos related to the activity you are logging 
      • After you are finished logging the Activity Details click the Add Activity button.
    • Meal: Here you can record details about the meal a child ate  

    If you are using KidKare for tracking the Food Program an automated Activity will be generated at the time that a child is marked present for meal attendance. This activity entry will include the name of the meal (if provided) and the served meal components.

    If the child is served two servings two activities will be logged. 

      • After selecting the child you wish to create this activity for, enter the time of the meal then add the relevant information:
        • Meal Type: Select which meal you are serving
          • Breakfast
          • Lunch
          • Dinner
          • Snack
        • Food: Enter in what the child was served for this meal 
        • Notes: Add any additional information you would like to provide about the meal here
        • Uploads:  Here you are able to upload any photos or videos related to the activity you are logging 
        • After you are finished logging the Activity Details click the Add Activity button.
    • Milestone: This is meant to keep parents updated on the big moments that happen in a child's day
      • First select the child you wish to create this activity for, then fill out the other relevant fields 
      • Activity Name: Enter in more information about the milestone you are sharing
      • Time: When this event occurred
      • Notes: Share more details with the parent about this exciting moment
      • Uploads:  Here you are able to upload any photos or videos related to the activity you are logging 
      • After you are finished logging the Activity Details click the Add Activity button.
    • Diary: Use this activity type to provide general updates about a child's day 
      • After selecting the child you wish to create this activity for, enter the time of the activity then add the relevant information:
        • Activity Name: Provide more detail on the activity you would like to update the parent on 
        • Notes: Share more details with the parent about this activity
        • Uploads:  Here you are able to upload any photos or videos related to the activity you are logging 
        • After you are finished logging the Activity Details click the Add Activity button.
    • Potty: Provide Parents relevant updates about the Potty and Diaper changes
      • After selecting the child you wish to create this activity for, under Time of Activity you should enter the time and select what type of bathroom update you need to make: Diaper or Potty
      • Type: Easily select what details you would like to provide to the parent 
        • Wet
        • BM (Bowel Movement)
        • Dry
        • Tried
        • Pee
        • Diaper Cream 
      • Uploads:  Here you are able to upload any photos or videos related to the activity you are logging 
      • After you are finished logging the Activity Details click the Add Activity button.
